I, for one, don’t hold out much hope for climate negotiations in Paris this year, or indeed, climate negotiations in any city in any year. In the US, anyway, there’s not much point in talking about climate change because besides true believers, no one is listening. Sitting around waiting for the government to take care of the problem does nothing to solve it, either. Meanwhile, LEED and other private-sector initiatives are chipping away at the problem. We must work together indeed. Shrill and irresponsible rhetoric from either end of the spectrum just gets in the way. Plenty of climate change skeptics, by the way, care about the environment for other reasons and do something about it. Action counts for more than correct opinions! And people who say something can’t be done ought to stay out of the way of the people who are doing it.
